There are two options available to participate in the Richmond Women's Golf Association.

• RWGA Membership:  Membership in this association is open to all amateur women golfers, regardless of age, provided they are active members with full golfing privileges in an Affiliated Club and have a handicap not exceeding the limit established by the RWGA Executive Board (Refer to Standing Rule H).  Each applicant for membership in the RWGA must be recommended by her club’s RWGA representative.

• Standing Rule J:  Provisional Participation.  

1.  This program is not accepting new applications for the 2024 season.  Rule J participants that are active on 31 Oct 2023 may renew their participation for the 2024 season.

2.  Its purpose is to enhance participation in regular RWGA events by allowing certain non-members to play in those events under the conditions specified below.

3.  Players participating pursuant to this rule are hereafter referred to as Rule J Players.

4.  Guidelines for Rule J Players:

a. A Rule J Player must be sponsored by a current RWGA member.

b. The cost to be a Rule J Player will be $25 above the annual dues set by the RWGA Executive Board.

c. A Rule J Player is not eligible to participate in Team Matches.

d. A Rule J Player cannot serve on the RWGA Executive Board.

e.  A Rule J Player can attend all RWGA meetings but cannot vote.

f. A Rule J Player is subject to the same rules and restrictions as RWGA members with regard to golf events, including tournament entry procedures, the Rules of Golf, golfing etiquette, field limitations, if any, and a duty to accept and observe all decisions of the Executive Board.

g. Prizes for events won by Rule J Players will be awarded as club credit at the golf club that is hosting the event.

h. Effective with the 2024 RWGA season, registration for all regular season RWGA events, unless otherwise specified in advance, will open to Rule J Players 24 hours after being made available to Members to register. A Rule J Player may be included with a Member’s registration in a multiple player event registration.
